My project involves developing a new system for the detection of sepsis related biomarkers. This will be done by the creation of nanopores in combination with the new technique ‘DNA assay on a string’. This project will continue to adapt this technique so that a range of specific biomarkers can be detected simultaneously. The research will also focus on the creation of a neural network to automatically characterise the results and provide diagnostic and prognostic information. Inventor of SCoNE.
